Organizational leaders—is it time to stop the planning?

Standard

Obviously, thorough planning and preparation are crucial to any leadership endeavor.  If you don’t know where you are going, where are you leading people?

My point isn’t that planning is a bad thing, but rather maybe something needs to be change in the way most organizations do their goal-setting and trying to fulfill those goals than what is typically done.

Surprisingly, often times, the best efforts made by committees and project teams just never realize the hoped-for goals that they long to achieve.  Why is that ?  Execution!

In this very good audio book, “The 4 Disciplines of Execution” by  Stephen Covey and  Chris McChesney, they present a process for building greater effectiveness in your team’s leadership.

Personally, not only did it make complete sense to my for an organization, but it was also tied in so well to the personal Life Coaching strategies I use with people.

You will very much enjoy this.
