Poetry: Waiting only for Time

For those who are used to receiving my typical posts, you will find something different in this poetry post. This is a poem that is a part of a Poetry collection that comes from a time of my searching days

Waiting only for Time

Miles of calm,

viewed at a distance,

a trace of life

then, movement in an instant.

His eyes are somewhat hidden,

his face  seems all ablaze,

his actions very fluid,

but his  mind in somewhat daze.

He talks very quiet

as his gestures lack motion.

he tells of his ship

and how it went down in the ocean.

There were three others aboard

now victims of the sea,

“I know what’s in the future,

and what will be for me.”

The sun  growing tired

starts its evening descent,

falling to the horizon

as last rays of sun are sent.

The wind blows warmly

as stars cover the sky,

another night of this beauty

to which he says good-bye.

So he lies content

as the waves ripple by,

alone on this island

the place where he’ll die.
