Poetry: The Beachfront

For those who are used to receiving my typical posts, you will find something different in this poetry post. This is a poem that is a part of a Poetry collection that comes from a time of my searching.

The Beachfront

A silent drifter on the beach

trapped  within my dreams

I look out to the sea

for the happiness  that it brings.

No artificial currents

the beauty all its own

no effort in its movement

the waves. Go where they’re blown.

Curious and friendly

they stalk in for the shore

to gaze  upon the land

and to find what love is for.

They’re only dogs at heart

some warm up to your touch

others  barking from a distance

for closeness. Is too much.

I’m in awe of  these waves

they just never seem to stop

they move along like clouds

reflections of the top

they mystery of a footprint

captures a little girl’s mind

and the vastness of this view

lifts her from the blind

the sand out on the beach

and teh breeze  across my face

perfection of innocence

a description of this place.
