Poetry: My Nurse

For those who are used to receiving my typical posts, you will find something different in this poetry post. This is a poem that is a part of a Poetry collection that comes from a time of my searching.

My Nurse

Tensions result from work

tensions come into view

the secret to contentment

is the secret I wish I knew.

Appointments to make

deadlines to meet

a moment to sit

then back on your feet.

Too much detail

for me to unwind

a trip to see the nurse

is what I have in mind.

She helped me before

and she’ll help me out again

tablets of relief

she gives me now and then.

It’s not a constant thing

its only when I worry

getting caught up in the rush

of people in a hurry.

So, this nurse dressed up in street clothes

is a comfort to my soul

keeping me in line

helping me reach my goal.

So, as I sit and rest

in the comfort of this chair

I think of only beauty

of society I’m unaware.
