Book Review- “The Race” (Darrell Waltrip)

Standard

When I drive I try to keep the speed limit.  When I’m on country highways, where you can go 70 m.p.h., that’s going pretty fast. Yet most of the time, most cars are still going much faster than me.

Now try imagining what its like going 200 m.p.h. with 42 other people—well, that’s NASCAR!  NASCAR

In “The Race” (living life on track with Darrell Waltrip), he shares valuable lessons from the world of racing, as well as applications for each of us in our every day life, including the need for preparation, patience, the importance of  relationships, etc..  There is also additional writing from Kyle Freeman and Billy Mauldin.

Darrell Waltrip is hall of fame racer.  “He is a three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion (1981, 1982, 1985) and a three-time NASCAR Cup Series runner-up (1979, 1983, 1986). Posting a modern NASCAR series record of 22 top five finishes in 1983 and 21 top five finishes both in 1981 and 1986, Waltrip won 84 NASCAR Cup Series races.” (wikipedia)
