What kind of choices are you making now?

“If  you live like no one else, later you can live like no one else”

Dave Ramsey

What a great quote. I like it for two reasons. For one, I love the idea of our uniqueness. Each of us is responsible for our own choices and each of us has the potential  for living wisely.

The other thing that stands out to me is the vision for the benefits of living with discipline. For many people, they have no self-control and they live day by day. They don’t really think or plan for a rainy day and unfortunately, will often pay the consequences later on for their lack of planning . In fact, many people live in this way.

But what this verse gives is a vision for living wisely.  For example, we have choices now, though it won’t be easy,  to sacrifice, save, and pay off debt, instead of spending, and satisfying the many impulses we have. If we exercise self-control now and can delay gratification, this quote from Dave Ramsey offers the likely potential that we will be in a very strong financial place down the road, where  we can live in a comfortable and generous kind of way.

How do you want to live now and how do you want to live later?   Then deal with it and be intentional about the choices you have  to make your dreams come true.
