“When asked to what he atributed his extraordinarily successful career. (Ed) Woolard replied, ” a good “B” player can surround himself with a lot of “A’s”. My job was really just to nurture them and make them successful.” Our caveat to Woolard’s self-deprecating comment is that this is what actually made him an “A”- identifying the opportunity and creating the conditions for attracting the best people and letting them do their best work.”
