Life is precious and there are no guarantees. None of us know what will take place in our lives 5 minutes from now, let alone 5 years from now.
Realizing how brief life can be can encourage us to be more intentional about enjoying every minute and every experiences and relationship.
The Bible says in psalm 90:12- “Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom” .
The Foundation , logo can help us number our days.
Picture a 20 year old thinking he might live to 80 years old. That is 60 years at 52 weeks a year, there is a total of 3120.
I’m not sure how old you are, but follow the same example as above- put one penny or stone in a container for every week you think you might have left to say, 80 years old.
After you do this, you will visually see a rough idea of how many days of life you have left (although though no one really can ever know).
Each week then that goes by, you should remove one stone or penny from the container as your life, so gradually fades away.
Is this a morbid thought? Well, maybe some folks would look at it that way. I guess I would choose to think of it as a visual way to encourage us to gain a perspective on the relative shortness of life. Doing so will give us a heart of wisdom and encourage us to value every precious moment of it.
I guess in a sense we are all losing our marbles.
