“Influence-the psychology of persuasion” by Robert Ciadini is a must read for everyone.
Many of us are influencers of others and reading this book can equip us with positive skills that can strengthen our persuasiveness.
All of us can be influenced by others, and sadly to say, many of us will be taken advantage by others. But through reading this book, we can limit the times that occurs by being aware of persuasive skills that others will seek to use on us in negative kinds of ways.
This book will help us to see six ways that tend to be most widely used to influence others:
1) reciprocity (and contrast)
2) commitment and consistency
3) social proof
4) liking
5) authority
6) scarcity
